| Motor Car #1 is a composite of several prototype motor cars. These were often shop built and reflected no particular rules of construction. It provides needed passenger service, as well as freight and mail contracts. There was a crew of two required to run them, so the labor costs were lower than a regular train. This model started as a Bachmann combine, but has been extensively modified. Two 6 volt gell cells provide power for two Northwest Shortline powered axles. The speed controller is by Remote Control Systems and the radio link is Futaba. Top speed is about 25 mph. |
