This crossing is made with code 250 nickel silver rail, so that the parts can be soldered together. The geometry was laid out on a pine board, so the pieces could be spiked down as they were fabricated. Then everything was soldered with a small propane torch. The flangeways were cleaned out with a piece of a hacksaw blade. The finished crossing was then spiked to ties.
